Donation Policy
Last updated: 12 July 2026
This policy explains how JOCO Health and Education Foundation (operated by JOCO Ghana Ltd, Reg. No. CS039670324) handles donations. We wrote it to be genuinely clear, not just legally cautious — please read it before giving.
This is a general starting point, not tailored legal or tax advice. If you are a larger donor, a grant-making organisation, or need this for your own compliance purposes, please contact us directly and, where appropriate, seek independent advice.
1. Our registration status
JOCO Health and Education Foundation is operated by JOCO Ghana Ltd, a company registered in Ghana (Reg. No. CS039670324, TIN C0063866307). We want to be direct about what this means: JOCO Ghana Ltd is registered as a company, not as a registered charity or NGO. We are not currently able to offer tax-deductible receipts for donations. If our legal structure changes in future — for example, through separate charitable registration — we will update this page and clearly communicate what that means for donors.
2. How donations are used
Donations support our programmes: school supplies and learning materials, tuition and school fee support, basic health outreach, mentorship, community partnerships, and support for vulnerable children. The suggested gift amounts shown on our Donate page (e.g. "$10 towards school supplies") are illustrative examples to give a sense of scale, not itemised guarantees that a specific donation funds a specific, individually tracked item or outcome.
3. How to give
We are in the process of setting up secure giving channels (mobile money, bank transfer, and PayPal). Until those are fully confirmed and published on our Donate page, please do not send funds to any account claiming to be JOCO unless it has been confirmed directly by a JOCO representative through our official contact channels.
4. Refunds
If you believe a donation was made in error — for example, a duplicate payment or an incorrect amount — please contact us as soon as possible. We will review the request and, where appropriate, issue a refund. Outside of genuine errors, donations are non-refundable, as funds may already be committed to our programmes.
5. Anonymous and public acknowledgement
Unless you tell us otherwise, we treat all donations as private. We will never publicly name a donor, or publish the amount they gave, without their explicit permission.
6. No guaranteed outcomes
We work in good faith to direct donations toward the programmes and communities described on this website. As with any charitable or community support effort, we cannot guarantee a specific outcome for any individual child, given the practical realities of the communities we serve.
7. Questions
If you have any question about giving to JOCO — including large gifts, in-kind donations, or corporate partnerships — please reach us through the contact form on this website.
